Vanilla Twilight ;

hopefulharmonies:

“So that’s his name, Hiroshima?” Yume repeated, only learning the pitcher’s name for the first time. Clearly, he was someone older than the both of them. Some respect was needed, she figured. “I wasn’t stalking him,” she tried to push the blush away, “He just happened to be here when I was. A simple coincidence.” Yume pointed out. Oh, the amount of poorly thought of lies she was saying today.

The sound of Hiroshima’s shoes on the sandy ground filled the area around the two as he threw another ball, the same song could be heard from the bat as the two came in contact. Aries’ comment was muffled slightly but could still very easily be heard by the girl as the blush on her face only deepened, now reaching the edge of her ears.

“M-M-My— t-t-type— H-Him?!” Her lips started shaking, her eyebrows raising. She couldn’t keep her cool anymore. THe girl had never talked about something like this with a guy before. She didn’t even know people had types. “H-HE’S NOT MY TYPE!” She yelled before covering her mouth and hiding her face when the game was stopped to look in the direction of the girl. They soon went back and Yume’s voice turned into a loud whisper. “He’s not my type, idiot! I don’t even know the guy! How-… I-.. He-… N-No—”

Words were becoming irrelevant for the girl. Or rather, she was having troubles forming them now, her embarrassment consuming her mind. “H-H-He’s…. not… my type….” She pouted. “Idiot pervert…” She added, turning her head to the side, hand covering the lower half of her face.

Sure, that Hiroshima guy was relatively good-looking, athletic, and his smiling face was fairly cute in Yume’s opinion, but she would never fit in with someone like him. Too flashy for her. She felt her eyes hesitantly looking over to Aries for brief seconds at a time before quickly diverting again to look towards the nearby tree.

What an idiot.

“Why,” She teasingly grinned, eyes peering over to him, “are you jealous that he’s getting all the girls?” This probably wasn’t very good teasing. “Hmm~ so that’s the kind of guy you are…”

His teasing came slapping back to his face when the Blonde expressed slight interest in the older Senior, well at least as heard by the young man. Her voice softened somewhat as she repeated the newly learnt name that resulted in a small pang of pain through his chest, making him wonder why. But the grey eyes assumed that it’s because his teasing simply didn’t work as well as he thought it should and decided to ignore that small feeling for now. Maybe it was her patched up lie that added effect to his assumption as well.

But his spirits were soon lifted again at the display she showed after, when he teased her about making Hiroshima her type of guy. Her voiced echoed slightly, making the game just ahead of them stop and eyes were in their direction. Hiroshima waved at his underclassmen who he recognize, “Hoi Aries! Quit teasing girls and join us already!” A smile from the older Senior as he said so.

Aries chuckled as he waved back, “Nah, No can do! Next time maybe!” The game resumed after his comment with Hiroshima shaking his head, laughing at the younger boy. The grey eyes turn to the girl next to him, who was loudly whispering retorts back at him with a flushed face, much to his amusement.

“No need to be so defensive over it, Yume-chan.” He slid his hands into his pockets, his grey eyes turning to the girl, catching that momentary glance she gave him before her eyes diverted elsewhere.

“Nah… I don’t really care about those sort of stuff,” he chuckled at her attempt to tease him. “And plus, Hiroshima-Senpai is the youngest Sports Coach in the whole school, has a good sense of style and pretty friendly with everyone so I wouldn’t really blame you even if you did.”

“Out of curiosity though, what is your type?” This time, his tone didn’t have a teasing hum to it, instead it was slightly monotonous, almost serious as he averted his gaze towards the game ahead of them.
